10 must see movies this christmas

Scrooge (1951)

Scrooge (1951) starring the great Alastair Sim, based on one of best Christmas stories of all time, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.  There are many versions of this classic tale but none in my opinion quite capure the mood and atmosphere of the Alastair Sim film.

It’s A Wonderful Life (1946)

What 10 Must See Movies This Christmas list would be complete without the classic It’s A Wonderful Life? George Bailey (James Stewart) has reached the end of the line with no way out, enter Clarence an Angel yet to earn his wings to show George the true worth of his life.  A genuine Christmas classic that is enjoyed by many each year. Great stuff…

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

It’s Christmas so that means it’s time to spend some time with the Griswalds!  This outing National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, sees Clark Griswald (Chevy Chase) on a mission to have the perfect Christmas, with all the family generations coming together at Clark’s home.  Alas you know all will not go well and what a ride we are taken on. Right from the beginning when the Griswalds are on their way to choose the tree we are treated to some great comedy car action.

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

Who doesn’t like the Muppets?  The good news they are bang on form in The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992).  Gonzo narrates as Charles Dickens, Scrooge is played by Michael Caine and Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchit.  But what about Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear?  They play Emily Cratchit and Fozziwig respectively.

Die Hard (1988)

Time to up the action this Christmas and what better way than to watch Bruce Willis in Die Hard (1988).  Plenty of action, gunfire and explosions all set at Christmas at the Nakatomi Plaza building during an office party.  John McClane of the NYPD just happens to be meeting his wife when all hell breaks out, great stuff!!!

Take a look at the trailer, like you have not seen this movie many many times , you are probably quoting lines right now…

Scrooged (1988)

Bill Murray plays a top TV executive in charge of running the station and it’s Christmas and that means a live show.  Yes this is the wacky comedy version of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol so you probably already know the story.  However this is the comedy version and Bill Murray puts in an outstanding performance making this a truly great watch.

The Snowman (1982)

If you from the UK The Snowman is a must watch every Christmas, it’s simply magical.  It’s an animated film about a boy who makes a snowman that comes to life and takes him on a wondrous adventure.  It’s only 27 mins long and made for TV but this is indeed a MUST SEE this and every Christmas!

Good news if you live in the UK it is being shown on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day on Channel 4, enjoy.

There’s no trailer so take a look at this clip…
