American Blu-ray Releases February 2018 Round-up

It’s time to take a look at all of the main new Blu-ray releases that came out in February 2018 from both film and television. So let’s get started with our round-up of the new American Blu-ray Releases February 2018.

February has seen plenty of new releases, here are the highlights just in case you happened to miss any of them. There’s a good mix between new movies such as Al Pacino’s Hangman (2017) and older titles like The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) 50th Anniversary.

If you are yet to make the leap from DVD to Bluray now is a great time with decent Blu-ray players costing around $70-$100.  For those thinking of going 4K Blu-ray that’s a little but more expensive at around $200-$250.

Lionsgate

One movie that’s probably gone under the radar of many film fans is the Al Pacino crime thriller Hangman (2017). Other titles from Lionsgate include the horror movie Hellraiser: Judgment (2018), drama The Florida Project (2017) starring Willem Dafoe and Wonder (2017) starring Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson.

Universal

Darkest Hour (2018) is the film in which Gary Oldman won best actor for his portrayal of Winston Churchill at the recent Oscars and is available now.  Also out in February was the comedy A Bad Moms Christmas (2017) starring Mila Kunis.

Paramount

Just the two movies of note from Paramount, Friday The 13th The Ultimate Collection plus comedy with Daddy’s Home 2 (2017).

Disney

Coco (2017) won the Best Animated Feature at the Oscars 2018 and can now be purchased on glorious Blu-ray.

Sony Pictures

Three movies came out in February from Sony Pictures, Only the Brave (2017), The Star (2017) and comedy horror Mom and Dad (2017) starring Nicolas Cage & Selma Blair.

20th Century Fox

Fans of Agatha Christie may want to pick the Blu-ray of the latest version of Murder On The Orient Express (2017) starring a whole host of star names such as Kenneth Branagh, Johnny Depp, Judi Dench, Daisy Ridley and Michelle Pfeiffer.

One other release worth mentioning is the Oscar nominated movie Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017).

Warner Bros

There are two Paul Newman movies availble now from Warner Bros, Harper (1966) & The Drowning Pool (1976). Other releases included Batman: Gotham By Gaslight & Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (1990).

Arrow Video

If comedy horror your kind of thing Arrow have Basket Case (1982) but if your are looking for something a little more serious and oozes style then Dario Argento’s giallo / thriller The Cat O’ Nine Tails (1971) may be what you are looking for.

The Criterion Collection

There’s a new restored version of George A. Romero’s classic horror movie Night of the Living Dead plus another release of The Silence of the Lambs (1991).

Kino Classics

Three new releases from Kino Classics including The Outlaw (1943), The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) 50th Anniversary and The Way West (1967).

Olive Films

There’s a classic film release from Olive Films with Birdman of Alcatraz (1962) starring Burt Lancaster with their other February release starring Dennis Quaid in Great Balls of Fire (1989).

Shout! Factory

February was horror month for Shout! Factory as they released three films, Drag Me To Hell (2009), Gate II (1990) & Night Of The Seagulls (1975).

Rounding up Other Titles

ClassicFlix released the Gary Cooper western Along Came Jones (1945), whilst Broad Green Pictures put out Just Getting Started (2017) starring Morgan Freeman, Tommy Lee Jones & Rene Russo.

Finally on the film front Scorpion Releasing released the Italian horror film The Sect (1991).

American Blu-ray Releases February 2018 – Television

Doctor Who fans are now able to get their hands on Doctor Who: Complete Peter Capaldi Years plus Doctor Who Special: Christmas 2017. Reeltime Pictures put out Andromeda: Complete Collection whilst Kino Classics put out the Lee Van Cleef series The Master Complete TV Series.
