Five Golden Dragons (1967) Blu-ray Review – Import

I’m taking a look at another film featuring actor Christopher Lee, I’m always on the lookout for any of his films making their way on to Blu-ray. Unfortunately sometimes some titles only come out in certain countries such as America. This is of course rather frustrating however many are indeed region free and can be obtained on Amazon. The Blu-ray I’m reviewing here is one of those cases. It comes with two films the Circus of Fear & Five Golden Dragons I’ve already taken a look at Circus of Fear so now on to the second film. So without further ado here’s my Five Golden Dragons Blu-ray Review.

Style / Direction

Jeremy Summers directs with the cinematography being handled by John Von Kotze. Five Golden Dragons is a fast paced light hearted action thriller.

Music / Audio Effects

The music is provided by Malcolm Lockyer and is an upbeat tempo / comedy style score. This certainly fits the style of film which is a mix between comedy and thriller.

Acting / Characters

On the whole everyone does a good job which allows the film to flow rather well.

Conclusion – Five Golden Dragons Film Review

Whilst not the most gripping of stories Five Golden Dragons is an easy enough watch. Christopher Lee makes a cameo appearance so don’t buy this thinking he plays a major role.

Overall Five Golden Dragons is decent film worth taking a look at.

Five Golden Dragons Blu-ray Review

Hopefully a company such as Powerhouse Films or Arrow Video will obtain the rights and release both of the films for the UK market as obtaining this one can prove more than a little tricky via Amazon.

Taking a closer look at the picture quality reveals another excellent print.

There’s not too much on the extras front so there is definitely room for improvement if it ever receives a UK release.
