Arsenal Blu-ray Review – 2017 Nic Cage Film aka Southern Fury

Arsenal Blu-ray Review

The next movie in my Nicolas Cage movie season is the action thriller Arsenal (2017) aka Southern Fury. This one also stars John Cusack and Adrian Grenier. Unfortunately it has yet to receive a UK Blu-ray release but can be obtained via a foreign imported version. Should you consider picking it up on blu-ray? Let’s take a look, so without further ado here’s my Arsenal blu-ray review.

  • Arsenal (2017) aka Southern Fury – Import
  • Genre: Action Thriller
  • Directed by Steven C. Miller

Plot

A brother refuses to give up on his older brother when he is apparently taken hostage.

Style / Direction

The films directed by Steven C. Miller whilst Brandon Cox is responsible for the cinematography.

Music / Audio Effects

The music is provided by Ryan Franks & Scott Nickoley.

Acting / Characters

Most of the actors put in solid performances but its Nicolas Cage’s that will live one in the memory. I love a good Nic Cage movie and I love the variety of characters he takes on. Eddie King is a kind of mobster figure that seems permanently coked up. He makes the film really worth a look!

Conclusion: Arsenal (2017) Film Review

Arsenal is an over the top action movie that does have some fun moments. That said it doesn’t really all come together into a well executed style. The amount of blood and violence would in reality have resulted in Mikey’s death yet following such brutal assaults he barely looks injured. This really sets the tone for an unbelievable action movie. That said there are a few moments from Nicolas Cage that really need to be seen.

If you are just looking for an over the top action movie featuring Nicolas Cage then I say give this a look. I certainly had a few laughs watching Cage in this one and I think you might too!

Conclusion: Arsenal Blu-ray Review

Yet again the UK is missed out on the bluray front. That leaves us film lovers with two choices. Buy the sub-par DVD or import a foreign bluray that plays on UK players. There are no issues to report in the picture quality department being a film from 2017 but you don’t get any extras included.

Popcorn Cinema Rating: Arsenal (2017)

MOVIE RATING: WORTH A LOOK

BLU-RAY RATING: EXCELLENT
