If you loved Christopher Nolan’s highly acclaimed war film Dunkirk that took cinemas by storm in the UK this summer, you can pick it on Blu-ray on the 18th December 2017 in UK. For those in America it’s out a day later on the 19th December. If haven’t yet watched this outstanding film then Blu-ray is the best way to do so, plus if you are struggling for that last minute Christmas present this will go down well with most movie fans.
Dunkirk tells the story of the British and French armies in the Second World War that are cut off and driven back to the coast by the Germans. With 400,000 men left stranded all appeared lost until the ‘Miracle of Dunkirk’ took place. Ships and boats of all sizes from Britain took to sea in a hastily assembled fleet numbering over 800. By day eight over 330,000 men had been rescued.
There will be two versions of the Blu-ray, the standard and a filmbook, both of which will include a digital download. Prices are currently showing £14.99 & £24.99 respectively over on Amazon’s website. The US is currently only showing the standard version and that retails at $24.99
The other film about Dunkirk also named Dunkirk (1958) released on Blu-ray earlier this year. That one stars actors such John Mills, Richard Attenborough and Bernard Lee.
