This week’s big release has to be Downton Abbey which takes the leap from television series to the big screen. Another film worth taking a look at is actually an old one. The BFI are showing Midnight Cowboy (50th Anniversary) in selected cinemas across the country following a 4K restoration.

Fans of Downton Abbey will no doubt be delighted with the chance to see their beloved television series make its way on to the big screen. That should result in decent box office earnings. Check back next week to see if that prediction proves correct.
It: Chapter Two takes top spot at the box office charts on both sides of the Atlantic. It took £7.3m in the UK and $91m in the USA.

Avengers – Endgame takes the number one spot on the UK Blu-ray and DVD charts. The BBC’s series Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is another notable new entry.
