It may well be Easter weekend but that just means more film releases. This week the UK is has no less than five new releases and a classic eighties film returning to cinemas everywhere. One of those new films is crime, drama Dragged Across Concrete starring Mel Gibson.

Final Thought – Cinema Releases 19 April 2019 – & Box Office
It’s good to see another Mel Gibson acting role and that where my focus will be this weekend with none of the other new releases really interesting me. Ironically it’s the re-release of eighties adventure, comedy The Goonies which may proves more of a draw.
I’d predicted that Dumbo would continue to do well at the UK box office due to the Easter holidays and the children off school and so it’s proven to be the case. It regained the top spot this week from taking £2.3m compared to Shazam!’s £2.16m.
Critics widely panned the reboot of Hellboy and so it would seem did moviegoers as it only managed £989k and fourth spot on the film charts. Meanwhile in the USA it took $12m against its projected $15-20 million.
UK Blu-ray & DVD Charts
No real surprises in the Blu-ray & DVD Charts with Aquaman going straight in at number one. In total there were seven new entries in the Blu-ray top 100. Classic Doctor Who still has the recent release Doctor Who – The Macra Terror at number 54.
Meanwhile the DVD charts sees no less than twelve new entries including TV series Still Game – The Complete Series 9 and This Time With Alan Partridge.
