Comment by Dr. Loomis – Cinema Releases July 7 2017
Well it’s finally here, I’m talking about the latest superhero film. I mean how many do we really need per year? Anyway Spider-Man Homecoming dominates cinemas around the world this weekend and will no doubt achieve massive cinema revenues.
I won’t be one of those contributing to Marvel’s coffers. I’ve never really been into Spider-man I’m very much a Batman person especially the Christopher Nolan and Tim Burton films.
If you are looking for something a little different there are a couple of smaller releases in the UK starting with the horror It Comes At Night. I haven’t seen it but judging by the trailer I think we have all seen this type of horror before but you never know I might end up surprised.
Elsewhere there’s a Drama / Romance with Song To Song starring Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara and Michael Fassbender. If that’s not for you then how about the Sam Neil drama Tommy’s Honour.
It does seem like the films I like are becoming somewhat of an endangered species, thankfully there are still plenty of undiscovered Blu-ray titles from years gone by.
In fact I’d go as far as to say I have discovered more old gems than new ones this year alone. Hopefully my luck continues and I can highlight a couple of noteworthy classic for you to watch.
