Are you ready for my Delirium blu-ray review? It’s an erotic giallo by director Lamberto Bava. The big question has to be is it worth obtaining on blu-ray? Let me answer that question right now.
- Delirium (1987)
- Genre: Erotic, Giallo
- Directed by Lamberto Bava
- UK Rating 18
- Discs: 1
- Released By 88 Films
- Blu-ray Released: 10 December 2018
Plot
When a former model Gloria takes the reins at the adult publication Pussycat, she becomes the target of a sick and twisted mind. This sick individual decides to start killing the cover models and photographing them with Gloria as their background. Who is this disturbed killer?
Style / Direction
The film was directed by Lamberto Bava whilst Gianlorenzo Battaglia handled the cinematography. It’s not a terrible erotic thriller but it’s also not a great one either. It ticks all the boxes for a giallo, giving plenty of misdirection and many possible killers.
Music / Audio Effects
The music is provided by Simon Boswell and has distinctly eighties vibe to it.
Acting / Characters
The acting is ok without any real stand out performers. Serena Grandi as Gloria takes on the lead role as a former model turn adult magazine owner.

Cast
- Serena Grandi as Gloria
- Daria Nicolodi as Evelyn
- Vanni Corbellini as Tony
- David Brandon as Roberto
- George Eastman as Alex
- Katrine Michelsen as Kim
- Karl Zinny as Mark
- Lino Salemme as Inspector Corsi
- Sabrina Salerno as Sabrina
- Capucine as Flora
Conclusion: Delirium (1987) Film Review
I’m not going to say Delirium is one of the best giallo’s I’ve ever seen but it does tick all of the boxes for what you would expect. It feels like an average, worth a look if nothing better is on movie. That said I quite enjoyed it but make no mistake this is not in the same league as any of Dario Argento’s best.
If like me you are a fan of the Italian giallo genre you should probably give it a look.

Conclusion: Delirium Blu-ray Review
There’s good news on the picture quality front as the film has undergone a restoration and looks superb. There’s nothing to complain about, I never spotted a single mark or flicker. The colours look as they should and the image is sharp.
There’s no real disc based extras barring some newly created English subtitles but I’m more than happy with the pristine condition of the film.
