Hammer Volume One Fear Warning Blu-ray Boxset Review

Over the last few weeks I’ve been taking a look at all the recent Hammer films Blu-ray releases.  Having reviewed individually all of the films contained in Indicator’s (Powerhouse Films) boxset Hammer Volume One Fear Warning, here’s my boxset verdict.

The films included in the boxset are:

It’s a good selection of films albeit with some of the lesser known titles.  My favourite of these has to be The Gorgon (1964) starring Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee although I thoroughly enjoyed Fanatic (1965) and Maniac (1963)The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb is a good film but not the best of the Hammer Mummy titles.

Picture Quality

The picture quality on all the titles is simply flawless.  They are sharp and clean looking with none of those annoying specks of dirt to worry about plus the colours look perfect.  Put simply these are by far the best versions released to date and that alone makes Hammer Volume One Fear Warning a must have.

Extras

Powerhouse Films provide a truly excellent set of extras to accompany the outstanding picture quality, with plenty of interviews and features.  My favourite of all the extras are the features including Hammer expert Jonathan Rigby.

Overall the extras are packed full of interesting information.

Conclusion: Hammer Volume One Fear Warning Blu-ray Boxset

If you love watching Hammer films then Powerhouse Films Hammer Volume One Fear Warning Blu-ray boxset is a must have addition to your film collection.  There’s more good news if you enjoy this collection of films as the next volume titled Criminal Intent is out on the 19th February 2018.
