It’s the Killing Season? I certainly hope not, oh wait it’s my Killing Season movie review, phew…
Well you will be forgiven if it passed you by as I believe it only had a relatively small release back in 2013. So what is it all about? Well firstly you will have noticed it stars two big name actors in Robert De Niro and John Travolta.

Plot
The plot is quite simple, two war veterans from the Bosnian war in 1995, one an American Benjamin Ford played by Robert De Niro and the other a former Serbian solider (John Travolta) engage in a game of hunter or hunted across the Appalachian mountain wilderness.
Both of these men bear the emotional scars from that war and need closesure. So we are left guessing which one will come out on top and I’m not about to reveal that here. The balance of power swings back and forth to add to the tension.
First off this is a good looking movie, with great scenery mountains & woodland. Secondly we have two strong actors in the key roles which keep you engaged with story.
The plot is pretty straight forward with most of the depth coming from the back story about the Bosnian War.
Now it should be mentioned that this film was largely savaged by most critics and I think this is because of the high profile of actors more than anything else. For instance John Travolta is heavily criticised for his Serbian accent. I mean sure it may not be great but I didn’t think it was that bad and come on it does not ruin the film.
A decent cat and mouse action thriller.

Conclusion: Killing Season Movie Review (Blu-ray)
Is this a great film? Absolutely not, but is it a decent one? The answer is yes, it is a decent cat and mouse action thriller which is rather light on depth. I judge it for what it is and that is a movie that is worth watching but fails to rise any higher than that. I never became bored and the movie moves along a good pace.

It’s a new film so there’s no problem with the picture quality.
