It’s time to take a look at another Blu-ray release from Fabulous Films and it’s an eighties classic. Here is my Magnum PI Blu-ray review.
Now to be clear this is more of a first impressions as Magnum PI spans 8 seasons and that’s a lot of viewing. The aim here is to let you know whether or not you should be spending your money upgrading from the DVD version.
I have watched several episodes from all seasons to ensure a fair impression of the Blu-ray quality.

Again like with the A-Team, Knight Rider and Miami Vice I’m not going to go through each episode or plot points as I’m pretty sure if you are considering purchasing it on Blu-ray you will want to discover or re-discover the many great episodes for yourself.
Overview
Tom Selleck plays as private investigator Thomas Magnum who lives in Hawaii. Supported by his friends Higgins, T.C and Rick.
Magnum PI Blu-ray Conclusion
I’ll get straight to the point, Magnum P.I on Blu-ray looks very good. The picture is brighter, crisper and cleaner with very few specks of dirt compared to the DVD version.
You will find the odd ones here and there but overall this is a big improvement on the DVD version.
Also occasionally you will notice the quality of a scene drop, usually with lots of noise. That said it normally only lasts until a change in camera shot so it’s not really that noticeable and it’s not on that many episodes.
I have no hesitation in recommending you upgrade from the DVD version, the Blu-ray has far superior picture quality.
Oh for some strange reason the menu music is the original Magnum PI theme which was replaced halfway through season one. This continues through all eight seasons and seem an odd choice when the theme we all remember and love is so awesome!
