It’s Christmas so time for another festive film recommendation. This is my Scrooged blu-ray review, you know the 1988 classic starring Bill Murray as a nasty television president.
It’s a great comedy version of Charles Dickens ‘A Christmas Carol’ and Murray is on top form.
At the time of writing this movie review you can pick up Scrooged for around £5.95 on Amazon.

Its Christmas and ruthless IBC Television president Frank Cross (Bill Murray) is about to be visited by three ghosts that are sure to knock some sense into him.

Style / Direction
Richard Donner masterfully directs this 80’s Christmas classic. The comedy is expertly crafted resulting in film full of laughs from start to finish. The cinematographer for the film was Michael Chapman.
Music / Audio Effects
The film’s magnificent score comes from the hugely talented Danny Elfman.
Acting / Characters
The acting is outstanding, just take a look at the cast list below.
That said this is very much Bill Murray’s film and he delivers laughs big time.
Karen Allen plays Claire Phillips, Frank’s former girlfriend. She is excellent and the two complement each other brilliantly.
There’s not a bad performance in the movie, Carol Kane as the Ghost of Christmas Present is simply sensational as is David Johansen as the Ghost of Christmas Past.
Bobcat Goldthwait adds even further zaniness to proceedings playing Eliot Loudermilk an employee fired by Frank Cross on Christmas Eve.
