Plot

The Bag Man? What is it all about? Well it’s kind of a film noir thriller about a guy Jack (John Cusack) who is asked by Robert De Niro’s character, Dragna to collect a bag and deliver it to a motel in New Orleans.

Oh and one thing DON’T LOOK IN THE BAG!

Sounds simple right? WRONG, from the start of the film things don’t appear to going to plan and when Jack arrives at the motel he encounters a some strange characters. I won’t spoil this by describing all of them. One of them is Rivka played by Rebecca Da Costa who seeks refuge in Jacks motel room.

Conclusion: The Bag Man Movie Review (Blu-ray)

Now with a film like this you are never sure what is really going on or for that matter who is telling the truth? This works very well and has you unsure what is truly going on right until end.  Throughout the film you keep wondering who is Dragna (Robert De Niro), is he in the mafia, shadowy government guy or worse?

This film has everything from a complicated plot to comedic moments to action scenes. The movie is really well shot with the motel being the main location. It looks great, as I said earlier think film noir!

Good acting performances all round with Robert De Niro playing a powerful domaint figure as only he can.  John Cusak puts a fine performance showing what a good actor he is even if some of his previous film choices are questionable. Rebecca Da Costa delivers a fine performance and seems perfect for the film.

A lot of film centres around scenes with John Cusak and Rebecca Da Costa and they clearly have good chemistry between them.

Overall I would say this is my type of film!
