The Cat O’Nine Tails (1971) Blu-ray Review – Remastered Version

I’m a bit of a fan of Dario Argento’s film and the one I’m looking at here I’ve already reviewed when Arrow Video first released it on Blu-ray. However that release whilst was good simply wasn’t good enough and Arrow seem to agree because they have decided to release the film again but this time it’s undergone a 4K restoration. I’m not going to re-review the movie but I am going to review the enhanced picture quality. So here’s my The Cat O’Nine Tails (1971) blu-ray review of the 2018 release.

The Cat O’Nine Tails Blu-ray Review

The film has undergone a brand new 4K restoration of the film from the original camera negative. Having already reviewed Arrow Video’s first release of this film I summed up that Bluray release by saying:

“For the most part the picture quality is pretty good; it’s not perfect but way better than any other version you already own. The background is where the quality sometimes suffers plus there are a few tiny speckles throughout.”

However on this new 2018 Blu-ray there is absolutely nothing to complain about. The picture quality is simply perfect and those annoying little speckles are nowhere to be seen. This really is an outstanding release from Arrow along with all of the extras. The extras are all subtitled but worth a look even if it’s just the once.
