Plot

Set in Enfield, England in the 1970’s an apparently normal family begin to experience strange occurrences in their home.

As events begin to spiral out of control they reach out for help with Maurice Grosse keen to offer his services.

Style / Direction

The look and feel nails the 1970’s to perfection whilst the pacing is deliberately slow allowing the tension to build until finally all hell breaks loose.

Music / Audio Effects

The music provides an unnerving and tense feeling which suits this supernatural tale perfectly.

Acting / Characters

Timothy Spall plays Maurice Grosse a man struggling to come to terms with the loss of his daughter. He is however determined to help this family that is seemingly besieged by paranormal activity.

Spall puts in an exceptional performance and keeps you engrossed throughout.

Elsewhere the rest of the cast put in good performances which really helps to make the story more believable.

Conclusion: The Enfield Haunting TV Series Review

The Enfield Haunting is a thoroughly engrossing paranormal tale, make no mistake this is a slow burner but nevertheless one you won’t want to take your eyes off.

If you have already watched The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Case then you will know the story as they are indeed the same.

The TV version focuses on Maurice Grosse’s story rather merely about the family and their house and that actually makes the story far more interesting.

That said I enjoyed both film and television versions, with the film being far more dynamic as you might expect.

Make no mistake The Enfield Haunting is a must see for fans of the supernatural genre.
