The film I’m taking a look at today is an action, adventure from 2015 starring Vin Diesel. Yes this is my The Last Witch Hunter blu-ray review. It also stars Michael Caine and Elijah Wood so a pretty good cast right?

Plot
Around Eight hundred years ago, the Witch Queen unleashes the black plague upon the local population. The only thing to stop her succeeding are the witch hunters. During the battle Kaulder (Vin Diesel) kills the Witch Queen but she curses him with immortality before dying.
Fast forward to modern day and someone appears to be trying to bring back the Witch Queen and there’s only one Witch Hunter left to deal with her.
Style / Direction
The film was directed by Breck Eisner whilst Dean Semler was the one responsible for the cinematography. In all honesty it’s a very well put together action adventure that has pretty decent special effects. The story moves along at good pace always keeping you entertained and interested.
Music / Audio Effects
The music is provided by Steve Jablonsky.
Acting / Characters
Vin Diesel is convincing in the lead role of Kaulder the last witch hunter who also happens to immortal. He’s a man of few words but delivers plenty of action. Backing him up are the excellent Michael Caine, Elijah Wood and Rose Leslie.
Michael Caine plays a priest called Dolan 36 that aids the witch hunter. Elijah Wood takes on the role of Dolan 37. Make of that as you will.
Meanwhile Rose Leslie plays Chloe a witch bar, owner that Kaulder turns to for help.
All of the main actors produce fine performances as you might expect when glancing at the cast.

Conclusion: The Last Witch Hunter (2015) Film Review
The Last Witch Hunter is an action packed adventure that never has a dull moment. Vin Diesel is a good choice in the lead role, whilst the supporting cast is simply fabulous. I mean who doesn’t like Michael Caine?
I highly recommend giving this one a look if you love high octane fantasy action adventure movies.
