Next in my Nicolas Cage movie season is the political drama The Runner from 2015. It sees Cage take on the role of a politician following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Should you consider picking it up on blu-ray? Let’s take a look, so without further ado here’s my The Runner blu-ray review.

Plot
Following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill an idealistic politician Colin Pryce (Nicolas Cage) is leads the charge for proper compensation. At the same time he has one eye on his political career, however following a sex scandal his world comes crashing down.

The film was directed by Austin Stark whilst Elliot Davis takes on the role of director of photography and is responsible for the cinematography.
Music / Audio Effects
The music is provided by The Newton Brothers.
Acting / Characters
Nicolas Cage is on top form as a politician forced to compromise his beliefs in order to regain his political career.

Conclusion: The Runner (2015) Film Review
The Runner is a well written and paced movie that keeps you engaged throughout. It may not sound the most compelling film from the synopsis but it really is worth a look.
