I’m taking a look at another Nicolas Cage movie. This time its a action crime thriller from 2014 called Tokarev or to give it the Amercian release name, Rage. Is it worth a purchase? Let’s take a look, so without further ado here’s my Tokarev blu-ray review.

Plot

Following the tragic abduction and murder of a loved one a former mobster turned legit businessman Paul Maguire returns to his past to ensure justice is administered. He employs the help of his two closest friends as they seek answers from the Russian mafia operating in America.

Style / Direction

The films directed by Paco Cabezas whilst Andrzej Sekula is responsible for the cinematography. Its a well made and shot film that looks impressive.

Music / Audio Effects

The music is provided by Laurent Eyquem.

Acting / Characters

The casting is very good with the only weak parts being played by the teenagers. That said much of the focus is on Nicolas Cage and his buddies. Cage as usual is excellent making this one rollercoaster ride of emotions and action you won’t want to miss.

There’s even a role for the fabulous Danny Glover as the cop trying to help whilst knowing the Cage’s character is carrying out some horrific crimes in the name of justice.

Conclusion: Tokarev (2014) Film Review

Tokarev is a thoroughly entertaining movie that’s packed full of action and events that you simply won’t see coming. It really is an excellent action thriller you need to watch.
