It’s that time of the week when we take a quick look at what movies are hot at the US Box Office. These figures are for US Box Office 6 January 2017. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been at the top of the charts since its release but all good things come to end. Hidden Figures anyone?
US Box Office 6 January 2017
|1||(17)||Hidden Figures||20th Century Fox||$22,800,057|
|2||(1)||Rogue One: A Star Wars Story||Walt Disney||$22,063,570|
|4||New||Underworld: Blood Wars||Sony Pictures||$13,688,751|
|5||(7)||La La Land||Lionsgate||$10,132,213|
|7||(5)||Why Him?||20th Century Fox||$6,901,730|
|10||(8)||Assassin’s Creed||20th Century Fox||$4,178,643|
So not much change in terms of new movies at the box office with Underworld: Blood Wars the only new release to enter the top 10. A Monster Calls (Drama) also released last week (opened wide, following a limited intial release) fails to make it entering at number 12.
This weeks see a number of new releases that should help freshen up a pretty stagnated cinema line-up. Don’t forget to check back on Thursday when we will have all of those new releases along with their movie trailers.
