It’s that time of the week when we take a quick look at what movies are hot at the US Box Office. These figures are for US Box Office July 21 2017.

Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk enters at number one which is really no surprise, however what is a surprise is maybe the fact it only took $50,513,488 I would have thought Warner Bros may have expected a little more.. That said this is very much a story about the British during The Second World War and it has done exceptionally well in the UK.

Another new entry on the US cinema chart is the female lead comedy Girls Trip, with takings of $31,201,920 earning it number two in the countdown.

So both Dunkirk and Girls Trip I would consider to have had reasonably successfully weekend box office earnings, but what about the last weeks other big release, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Well the news if not quite as good with it only managing to take $17,007,624 but this is in a crowded summer of movie releases.
