It’s that time of the week when we take a quick look at what movies are hot at the US cinema, these figures are for US Cinema Charts September 22 2017.

There are several new entries on the chart this week resulting in the departure of Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk dropping from number 10 last week to 15. Stephen King’s IT is deposed from the top place on the chart by Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Cinema box office takings for Kingsman were $39,023,010 against IT’s $29,757,494.
Other new entries in the top 10 include The Lego Ninjago Movie (3), Friend Request (7) and Stronger (8). Warner Bros have two movies in the top three with The Lego Ninjago Movie taking $20,433,071 which may well be lower than expected.
Meanwhile 20th Century Fox should be reasonably please with Kingsman: The Golden Circle first weekend performance.
