It’s that time of the week where we take a look at the top 10 box office movies and ask is there a new number one film? Or did Disney’s Ant-Man and the Wasp do enough to hold off the challenge from Sony Pictures’ Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation or Universal’s Skyscraper? Well it’s time to answer that question, here are the figures in full for the US Movie Charts July 13 2018.

US Movie Charts July 13 2018
(Box office results this weekend)
Movie | Distributor | Gross | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | New | Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation | Sony Pictures | $44,076,225 |
2 | (1) | Ant-Man and the Wasp | Walt Disney | $29,097,859 |
3 | New | Skyscraper | Universal | $24,905,015 |
4 | (3) | Incredibles 2 | Walt Disney | $16,262,898 |
5 | (2) | Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom | Universal | $16,199,430 |
6 | (4) | The First Purge | Universal | $9,312,530 |
7 | (16) | Sorry to Bother You | Annapurna Pictures | $4,208,881 |
8 | (5) | Sicario: Day of the Soldado | Sony Pictures | $3,881,050 |
9 | (6) | Uncle Drew | Lionsgate | $3,186,625 |
10 | (7) | Ocean’s 8 | Warner Bros | $2,907,356 |
It’s Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation that enters the chart in first place managing to take $44m in box office revenue. That means Ant-Man and the Wasp slips to number two with a mere $29m.
Meanwhile Dwayne Johnson’s Skyscraper has to settle for third place on the chart taking a rather disappointing $24.9m. Compare this against its alleged budget of around $125-130m and with the first week virtually always the highest taking weekend it looks like this one will struggle to make its money back.
Elsewhere Sorry to Bother You climbs from sixteen to seven whilst it looks like the end of the road for both Uncle Drew and Ocean’s 8 as they drop to nine and ten respectively.
